Join Prof. Maurício Araújo, one of the world’s leading experts in Implantology, for this exclusive full-day masterclass in London. This course delivers cutting-edge, evidence-based insights into three of the most important topics in modern implant dentistry: Narrow Diameter Implants (NDIs), Bone Preservation after Extraction, and Peri-Implantitis Management.Combining scientific rigor with practical clinical guidance, Prof. Araújo shares the key principles, biological foundations, and real-world case studies that have shaped today’s best practices. Participants will gain critical knowledge and practical techniques to handle challenging clinical situations

  • Expert-led Masterclass: Learn directly from Prof. Araújo, one of the founders of Ridge Preservation and a globally recognized authority on peri-implant health.
  • Focus on NDIs: Understand when, where, and how to use Narrow Diameter Implants to meet today’s clinical demands for minimally invasive, bone-conserving solutions.
  • Practical, real-world content: Includes live case reviews and detailed discussion of clinical protocols.
  • Evidence-based approach: Rooted in landmark research that redefined implant dentistry.

Why choose this course:

  • Learn from the pioneer: Prof. Araújo’s groundbreaking research is the basis for many of today’s standard protocols — you’re learning straight from the source.
  • Focused on practical challenges: practical, evidence-backed solutions for three of the biggest clinical challenges: narrow ridges, bone loss, and peri-implantitis.
  • Narrow Diameter Implant focus: Few courses cover NDIs in this depth with clear clinical protocols for all regions of the jaw.

1. Tooth Extraction Reinvented: Minimally Invasive Strategies for Maximum Bone Preservation

Post-extraction bone resorption can complicate implant placement and affect esthetics. This session will explore minimally invasive extraction techniques aimed at preserving ridge dimensions, supported by clinical case examples.

2. Peri-Implantitis Uncovered: Navigating the Challenges of Diagnosis, Treatment, and Long-Term Maintenance

Peri-implantitis continues to be one of the most pressing challenges in implant dentistry. In this lecture, Prof. Araújo demystifies the complexities behind this inflammatory condition affecting the tissues around dental implants.

3. Slim but Strong: Mastering the Use of Narrow Diameter Implants in All Regions of the Jaw

With increasing patient demands for minimally invasive options and anatomical constraints in implant therapy, narrow diameter implants (NDIs) have become a critical tool in the modern clinician’s arsenal. Learn how to confidently place and restore NDIs without compromising on strength, function, or aesthetics.

Aims & Objectives

  • Evaluate the biomechanics, indications, and evidence for Narrow Diameter Implants in all regions of the jaw, including posterior sites.
  • Learn how alveolar ridge resorption supports the use of NDIs to avoid unnecessary bone augmentation.
  • Master minimally invasive extraction techniques to preserve ridge dimensions and optimize implant site development.
  •  Understand the biological mechanisms behind peri-implantitis and apply best practices for diagnosis, treatment, and long-term maintenance.
  • Critically assess complex clinical cases and apply evidence-based strategies for predictable implant outcomes and soft tissue stability.

Course Description

The Campbell Academy’s flagship Year One Implant Course is a 12-day course that has helped hundreds of UK dentists begin their implant careers, and now it’s available in Scotland.

Since 2015, The Campbell Academy has provided extensive implant dentistry courses for general practitioners in Nottingham; now also bringing the same opportunity to Scotland.

Our Year Implant Course is a clearly designed and developed, straightforward implant course based on the well-accepted ITI guidelines. It provides various educational opportunities to enable general dental practitioners to confidently assess, plan, and execute straightforward implant cases.

Delegates will have the opportunity during the clinical days to place dental implants on patients at Wrights Dental, Dundee & Atelier Dentistry in Glasgow and will be followed through their journey to ensure they reach a situation where they’re confident to begin their surgical and restorative implant careers.

This allows practitioners to begin their implant journey in a safe and secure environment.

The resources available for this course enable a range of educational interactions, including peer-to-peer education on an innovative online discussion framework, integration with the ITI curriculum, face-to-face teaching, practical exercises, live surgery, and mentoring.

Through the amazing support of our partners, Wrights, and our Clinical Director of Education for Scotland and Ireland, Professor Colin Burns, we can offer the same fantastic introductory course in implant dentistry in Scotland as we do here in Nottingham.

Course Outline

A World-Class Course. Tailored for Us.

In January 2026, we’re honoured to welcome Dr Oscar Gonzalez to The Campbell Academy to deliver a bespoke, two-day course focused on anterior aesthetic implant dentistry at the highest level.

Oscar is a global leader in aesthetic implant therapy and the management of complications.

If you’ve read Colin’s blog, you’ll know just how excited we are to bring his unique perspective and skill set to the UK.

This is a rare opportunity to spend two days in a close-knit setting with a speaker you’d usually only see on a main stage. Expect fantastic teaching, insightful discussions, personal stories, and the freedom to engage in open and honest conversations as a group.

What to Expect

This isn’t a standard course. It’s being carefully developed for us by Oscar, in collaboration with Beatriz Sanchez-Iñigo and Alex Jones, who will attend his course in Summer 2025 to tailor the content specifically for our delegates.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for experienced implant clinicians who are ready to refine their approach, deepen their understanding, and enhance their aesthetic outcomes in the most challenging clinical scenarios.

Spaces are intentionally limited to preserve the quality of the experience and allow for personal interaction with Oscar.

Over two days, we will cover:

  • The art and science of implant therapy in the aesthetic zone
  • Restorative excellence – provisional and final crown design and execution
  • Managing the most challenging complications in aesthetic implant dentistry
  • Hands-on sessions, in-depth lectures, and rich discussions throughout

Course Schedule

Please note that Beatriz Sanchez and Alex Jones will be attending Oscar’s course in summer 2025 to assist us in developing our bespoke version. As a result, the course schedule may be subject to slight changes.

Day 1: Surgical management of complications

  • Decision tree for managing complex implant cases in the aesthetic zone.
  • Flap design and management: pedicle vs. tunnel.
  • Soft tissue grafting around implants: how, when, and why.

Day 2: Prosthetic management of complications

  • Soft tissue conditioning around implants.
  • Advanced concepts on implant provisionalisation.
  • Critical and subcritical contour.
  • Foundational principles and clinical application.
  • Hands-on: Implant provisionalisation.

  • C (Maintenance and development of your knowledge and skills within your field(s) of practice)
  • D (Maintenance of skills, behaviours and attitudes which maintain patient confidence in your and the dental professions and put patients’ interests first.)
