Course Description

From scan to guided placement

This practical two-day programme takes you through guided surgery from start to finish — scan acquisition and treatment planning, through guide design and fabrication, to guided implant placement and verification.

The emphasis throughout is on practical implementation: clearer workflows, restoratively-driven planning, and the confidence to bring digital planning into everyday practice — including an honest look at the limitations of guided surgery and when to adapt.

  • coDiagnostiX planning – Restoratively-driven digital planning and implant positioning.
  • Guide design & fabrication – Plan, fabricate and verify surgical guides before surgery.
  • Guided placement – Place implants using the guides you designed on the course.
  • Verification & troubleshooting – Accuracy, complications and when to convert to freehand.

Ideal for

Clinicians already placing implants freehand who want clearer digital systems and practical implementation — not theory alone.

A structured workflow, planning through to surgery

  • Scan acquisition & digital records – STL files, CBCT data, wax-ups and digital workflow organisation.
  • coDiagnostiX planning workflows – Implant positioning, restorative planning, AI alignment and guide development.
  • Surgical guide fabrication – You design the guides, which are fabricated overnight ready for day two.

  • Guided surgical protocols – Guided drills, irrigation, verification and Straumann guided
  • Implant placement – Place implants using the guides you designed on day one. workflows.
  • Verification & troubleshooting – Planned versus actual positioning, accuracy, complications, and when to convert to freehand.

What’s Included

  • 12 hours of verifiable CPD
  • Multiple planning cases (single-unit and bridge)

  • Guides you design, fabricated overnight
  • Place implants using your own guides on day two
  • Straumann guided surgical workflows
  • Guidance on guided surgery kits, in liaison with Straumann

  •  Understand the biology of the extraction socket
  • Learn when to place implants immediately or delay placement
  • Improve decision-making around ridge preservation
  • Develop more predictable implant treatment planning
Course Description

A rare opportunity to learn directly from one of implant dentistry’s most respected educators through focused teaching, hands-on training, and clinical discussion designed to improve decision-making around extraction, grafting, and implant placement.

This masterclass combines clinical theory with practical application. Delegates will work through key surgical concepts and apply them during guided hands-on exercises designed to reinforce the biological and clinical principles discussed throughout the course.

Over two days, delegates will explore the biological principles, clinical decision-making, and practical techniques that influence predictable implant treatment following extraction.

Learn from Prof. Rony Jung

Prof. Rony Jung is widely recognised as one of the most respected educators in implant dentistry. His work has helped shape modern thinking around implant placement, bone grafting, soft tissue management, and aesthetic outcomes.

This masterclass offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from him in an intimate setting, exploring the biological principles and clinical decisions that underpin predictable implant treatment following extraction.

Alongside teaching from Prof. Jung, delegates will also benefit from case discussion and clinical debate with Colin Campbell, bringing together international expertise with practical insight from daily implant practice.

Why this course matters

Why Timing Matters in Implant Dentistry

One of the most important decisions in implant dentistry happens at the moment of tooth extraction. The choices made at this stage influence whether an implant can be placed immediately, whether ridge preservation is required, or whether more advanced grafting procedures may be needed later.

Understanding how the extraction socket heals, how bone and soft tissue respond, and how timing affects outcomes is fundamental to delivering predictable implant treatment with confidence.

This two-day masterclass is designed to help clinicians think more clearly about these decisions through evidence-based teaching, clinical discussion, and practical hands-on training.

What You Will Learn

  • Understand how post-extraction sockets heal and how biology influences decision-making for future implant treatment.
  • Explore the rationale behind different implant timing options and when each approach may be most appropriate.
  • Review the science and clinical application of ridge preservation and how it supports more predictable future treatment.
  • Develop a clearer framework for case selection, treatment planning, and managing risk in immediate implant placement.
  • Gain insight into the grafting principles and surgical considerations that support more predictable implant outcomes.
  • Apply key concepts through hands-on exercises and deepen understanding through live clinical discussion and case debate.

Hands-On Clinical Training

Delegates will perform alveolar ridge preservation techniques on an animal model, exploring surgical approaches and understanding the biological principles that influence healing following extraction.

Practical exercises focusing on immediate implant placement will help clinicians understand surgical planning, risk assessment, and the clinical considerations that influence predictable outcomes.

A live discussion between Prof. Rony Jung and Colin Campbell analysing clinical cases, treatment decisions, and surgical strategies used in real implant practice.
