Introduction

The Campbell Academy’s Online Dental Implant Nursing Course has been designed by nurses, for nurses!

This introductory course has been created specifically for like-minded and ambitious individuals keen to participate in an innovative and unique training experience for dental nurses. The course has been exclusively created and developed by The Campbell Clinic’s exceptional team of (implant) dental nurses to support, nurture and guide dental nurses who are new to implant dentistry in their practice.

The content covered across each of the modules is designed to guide and stretch dental nurses. This includes eight projects that will develop attendees’ skills and knowledge for their career development and to be utilised in practice.

Why this course and why now?

For many years, we have delivered implant training for dentists. However, throughout this time we have been asked by our friends and colleagues to introduce training intended specifically for nurses who are new to implant dentistry.

We now believe we are in the perfect position to introduce this new online course! This is due to both the academic knowledge of the faculty in addition to their practical, day-to-day exposure to implant surgery through working for a dental practice specifically designed for this type of treatment.

Attendees will receive 3 hours of CPD for each week (which will include projects) and 1 hour for each zoom call – providing a total of 20 hours CPD.

Key features of the course:

  • An innovative online course consisting of eight modules over four weeks, with associated projects providing attendees with a unique and interactive experience.
  • A dedicated Slack channel (communication platform) for all course delegates to engage as a group and with the course faculty.
  • Modules and projects that have been specifically designed to develop the skills and knowledge to become a competent and confident implant dental nurse and to be utilised and implemented in their role in general practice and to aid career development.
  • Dental nurse delegates are welcomed and encouraged to attend The Year Implant clinical days alongside their dentist on the Year Implant course (if applicable).

Aims & Objectives – By the end of the course, you should be able to explain and demonstrate the following:

  • Explain the role of an implant dental nurse in general dental practice.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of implant dentistry, including the significant anatomical features relevant to implant dentistry.
  • Describe the processes relevant to implant assessment, planning, surgical placement, restorative, and maintenance phases.
