Dr Mike’s Gray exciting new course – POISE Protocol: Limited Preparation Ceramic.
This two day hands-on course run at Lodge Training provides an insight into Mike’s unique approach to modern day ceramic.
Costing £1950 this is an all inclusive package including tuition fees, use of equipment & materials, overnight accommodation & meals at the luxurious Angel Hotel in the beautiful town of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Course Overview
DAY 1
Consultation: Conducting your exam including assessment of occlusion and biotype, what to look out for, formulating and costing a treatment plan, and communication to the patient.
Planning: Photography (oral and portrait), scanning, smile design principles, digital facially driven wax-up, lab considerations.
Trial smile: Unique stent, evaluation, modification.
DAY 2
Preparation (or lack of): Shade taking, guides, preparation principles, retraction, scanning. (Will touch on conventional ceramic preparations – protocol can be applied to all).
Prototypes: aesthetic and functional evaluation, communication with lab.
Fit: Try-in, adjustment and seating of ceramic, isolation techniques, cementation process.
Course Objectives
- Correctly assess the patient and produce an appropriate treatment plan.
- Understand facially driven smile design and its application in practice and how to communicate this to the laboratory.
- Understand how to correctly prepare prior to ceramic and provision of prototypes.
- Learn how to reliably cement ceramic and ensure longevity.
- Apply the GDC standards to maintain safe practice.

This 12 month course offers a blended teaching approach, encompassing both direct mentorship and Hands-On Study Days with our Trusted Lecturers, as well as access to our renowned digital learning platform – SynTrain Academy, for online support and training modules.
The PG Diploma in Implant and Restorative Dentistry has been designed by some of the leading clinicians in the UK. Most of our lecturers and mentors are highly regarded and have been teaching dental implantology for many years. Our Lead Implant Lecturer, Dr Zuber Bagasi has been an ADI Mentor for many years.
The course has been designed using the ‘TELL, SHOW, DO’ concept of learning to empower each clinician to learn the theory of implantology, be shown the practical aspects of dental implantology and then to be directly mentored in dental implantology so that you are able to safely and confidently start implant dentistry in your own practice environment.

Learning Targets
Aim:
The PG Diploma course has been designed to integrate the theoretical learning and the Video learning with the hands-on learning and experience. Each delegate will be attached to a course mentor from the beginning of the course. Meaning that any cases that need to be discussed, can be supported directly by the course mentor.
We will aim to allow delegates to have 3 individual direct Implants mentorship cases with our mentors.
Course Objectives:
- To enable dentists to develop knowledge and understanding of restorative and implant dentistry from a theory and practical level.
- To progress their knowledge of the fundamentals of implant dentistry and understanding the principles of restoration in implant dentistry through the SAC classification.
- Be confident in their ability to identify cases within their scope of practice and experience and when to refer cases.
- To allow existing implant surgeons to further their knowledge and skill in Implant Dentistry.
- Understand the Principles of analogue implant workflows.
- Understand the principles of digital implant workflows.
- Be able to Independently place dental implants from single units to full arch implants.
