The Year One Implant Course provides a comprehensive overview of straightforward implant dentistry. The course is the first stage of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, a training pathway developed in partnership with the International Team of Implantology (ITI) Online Curriculum.
At The Campbell Academy, we firmly believe that it is essential that people starting on their implant journey are supported and nurtured towards placing fifty implants per year. This contrasts significantly with the almost 90% of current implant customers in the UK who place less than fifteen implants per year.
We believe that practical experience is an essential element of dental implant training, as lecture-based teaching or research alone can not make you competent at placing implants. Placing implants is a practical craft, a mixture of science and art that must be practised. To this end, The Year Implant course involves a considerable amount of practical implant placement experience where delegates will be encouraged to practice on their patients at The Campbell Academy to treat them from start to finish. This will give you a foundation to take back to your practice allowing you to select and execute appropriate treatments there with the help of a guiding hand.
We will not overlook the need to be able to source and secure patients within your practice environment. To this end, we have brought in one of the best-known names in marketing in dentistry, Chris Barrow, to help, instruct and guide people through the process of securing patients within their own practising sphere.
With an international faculty who have placed over 10,000 dental implants between them and many hundreds of full arch implant reconstructions carried out we feel we are in an excellent position to assist dentists starting out in implant dentistry to move forwards in their careers.
Finally, we have tied this course in with the Straumann Mentoring Scheme and our Year Two Implant Course allowing a seamless pathway into mentoring and further advanced training, ensuring a path into advanced and complex dentistry.

The Campbell AcademyThe facility is eye-opening – it’s just a fantastic space, really light and bright. It’s going to be such a great space for delegates to come and learn, for delegates to bring their patients, but also for Colin and his team to provide wonderful dentistry. It’s an outstanding facility.

The Campbell AcademyI would definitely recommend the academy. I think the style of teaching is fantastic. It makes it easy and provides systems and processes for your own practice that you can take away with you, so I would definitely recommend it…It has taken me through the process from a complete beginner to trying to do more advanced cases in my own practice.

The Campbell AcademyI placed two implants in two separate patients that came up with me – the mentoring was fantastic in that they just let you go at your own pace and step in when needed. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone who’s new to dental implants, as it is a great starting point in getting the technical, planning and ethics sides right.
