Course Description
Introduction to Restoring Implants
Delegates will be taken through assessment, planning, techniques and materials – all that is required to restore cases in their own practices.

Aims & Objectives
- Delegates will understand the surgical protocols for placing Straumann Tissue Level and Bone Level dental implants
- Delegates will understand the different methods for taking an impression of a dental implant, including digital intra-oral scanning
- Delegates will understand the principles of restoration design, including consideration of material options
- Delegates will be introduced to the processes followed by a dental laboratory for the manufacture of an implant prosthesis
- Delegates will be introduced to the principles of implant maintenance
- Delegates will be made aware of the complications that can affect dental implants: mechanical, technical and biological
Development Outcomes:
- This course meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome A,B & C
