Course Description

This a 1-day face to face workshop which introduces clinicians to Guided Surgery and specifically the Straumann Guided Surgery system by way of clinician-led lectures and hands-on exercises using models, demo implants and guides.

  • This course introduces delegates to the coDiagnostiX software and provides a presentation on the functionalities to demonstrate all the necessary steps in order to carry implant planning and guide creation for single and multiple unit cases.
  • Introduces delegates to the Straumann Guided System by way of hands-on demonstrations on demo models created for the cases already planned on coDiagnostiX from earlier.

Learning Targets

Learning Content:

  • Presentations covering fundamentals of Guided Surgery.
  • Hands on practicals on models using Straumann modular kits/drills
  • Clinical case discussions

Objectives:

  • To be able to competently use Co-Diagnostix for single unit cases to aid planning and surgery in everyday implant dentistry.
  • To be able to use Co-Diagnostix as a communication tool for patients
  • Understand the Straumann Guided Surgery and TLX/BLX system, as well as the features of the implant design and indications for its use.

Development Outcomes:

  • This course meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C.
