Johnny is a Newcastle graduate and after obtaining his BDS in 2006, he moved to the North West. His Clinical Practice is limited to the fields of Implant Dentistry and Oral surgery; he joined Bamford Dental Practice in 2015.
Johnny currently teaches on two MSc programmes in Implant Dentistry provided by the University of Salford and the VSS Academy. He has previously been a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester on the MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) programme.

He is the Director of the of the ITI (International Team for Implantology) Manchester Study Club. He has worked in several hospital Oral Surgery and OMFS posts as well as in general practice and emergency dental clinics.

After obtaining membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England and attending Professor Ucer’s multi-system Implantology Certificate programme, Johnny went on to pursue further post graduate studies at the University of Manchester. He obtained a master’s degree with distinction in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Following this, Johnny obtained a Fellowship in Oral Surgery with Oral Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland as well as a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Johnny also mentors Implant Dentists and has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Workplace-Based Postgraduate Medical Education from Edge Hill University.

He is a member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons and the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Outside of work Johnny enjoys spending time with his wife Helen and their three children; Grace, Ethan and Finlay. If Johnny has any free time, he enjoys running, cycling and swimming and has completed 3 full Iron Man triathlons in the UK. He enjoys martial arts and has trained in Taekwondo, Karate and Muay-Thai.
