Mital is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at The Royal London Dental Hospital and Queen Mary University of London. He was awarded his Bachelors degree in Dental Science in 2002 and in Dental Surgery in 2005, both from the University of Cardiff Dental School. Following a series hospital posts in Restorative Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery he was awarded membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England through examination. Mital then undertook a further five years of accredited specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Leeds and Leeds Dental Institute. During this time he also completed a Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry which he was awarded with distinction. In 2012 he passed the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination held jointly by the four Royal Colleges, leading to completion of specialist training in 2013. This is the highest qualification in restorative dentistry in the UK.
Mital is a GDC registered specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontology and Endodontics. As a Consultant, Mital is the clinical lead for dental trauma and endodontics at The Royal London Hospital. He enjoys managing complex restorative cases as well as the challenge of rehabilitating patients who have had severe trauma to the teeth and their supporting tissues. He is also actively involved in training postgraduate students in implant dentistry as well as other aspects of restorative dentistry. Prior to taking up his consultant post he undertook a period of elective study focusing on implant dentistry at two world-renowned dental institutes in Switzerland. Mital currently visits the practice once a week to provide private treatment for patients requiring different aspects of specialist or complex restorative dentistry.
Mital is a perfectionist and takes pride in all his work. Throughout his career he has received numerous prizes from various professional organisations and published a number of articles in peer reviewed journals. He was a finalist at the National Dentistry Awards in 2011 in the best young dentist category for the North East region. He is an elected council member for the British Society for Restorative Dentistry and a recognised speaker and member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
