Course Description

This interactive course is focused on predictable Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) in Implant Dentistry : Clinical Guidelines & Contemporary Techniques.

The course is open to all Straumann Group customers (Straumann/Neodent/Anthogyr) and is aimed at dentists who are already placing and restoring dental implants

The following topics will be covered:

  • Principles of predictable guided bone regeneration
  • One size does not fit all : Biology based decision making
  • Implant cases with atrophic ridges : Treatment planning session

The following workshops will be run:

  • Layering technique in guided bone regeneration in implant dentistry
  • Membrane stabilisation techniques:
  1. Titanium pins
  2. Periosteal pocket technique
  3. Sling stabilisation sutures
  • 3- Staged bone grafting techniques:
  1. Allograft bone blocks
  2. Sausage bone grafting technique
  • 4- Flap management for bone augmentation
  1. Muco-periosteal release
  2. Passive closure
  3. Advanced suturing techniques

Aims, Objectives & Learning Outcomes

Aims

To train implant surgeons in improving their clinical results for their guided bone regeneration cases and up-skill their bone management techniques to allow them to manage implant cases in the anterior zone predictably.

Objectives

  • Diagnosis of peri-implant bony defects
  • Selection of the suitable biomaterial : biology based decision
  • Layering technique in ridge augmentation      Membrane stabilisation : Titanium pins vs periosteal pocket techniques
  • Socket grafting: indications, techniques and limitations
  • Learn about the use of the Emdogain products to aid soft/hard tissue regeneration

Learn to improve their clinical outcome for guided bone regeneration cases and up-skill their bone management techniques
