Course Description

This is a 3-day small group face-to-face workshop covering treatment planning in implant dentistry with 25.5 hours of CPD including on-demand pre-course webinars.

Target audience:

  • Beginner to intermediate implant clinicians
  • Clinicians considering undergoing training in implant dentistry
  • Referring clinicians keen to understand how a range of dental implant cases are managed

Format:

  • Two reading lists of four papers to be discussed on the contact days
  • On demand webinars (totalling approximately 5 hours)
  • Approximately two face-to-face seminar presentations
  • Hands-on practical sessions on pigs heads & models covering immediate implant placement & guided bone regeneration/alveolar ridge preservation (this section can potentially be adapted to delegates requests)
  • A number of face-to-face case discussions to consolidate learning
  • Interaction will be encouraged in a supportive environment
  • The course content can potentially be adjusted to meet individual learning requirements. Please contact with your specific learning requirements when booking
  • Delegates are encouraged to bring along cases on the day for discussion

The course provides 25.5 hours of CPD and meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C.

Course Aims, Objectives & Development Outcomes

Aim: To provide a sound basis for assessment and treatment planning for dental implant cases

Objectives:
  • Discuss prosthodontic treatment indications within implant dentistry
  • Develop a strategy to select hard and soft tissue grafting methods
  • Build experience of implant placement in compromised sites and guided bone regeneration
  • Consolidate & implement learning via case discussions

Development Outcomes: This course meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C
