Carl Horton

After graduating from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1996 with a Clinical Distinction Carl worked predominately in private general practice. Whilst concurrently in private practice he was also an SHO, and progressed to lecturing the undergraduates clinically and on the restorative course. During this time he completed a Masters in periodontology and implantology.

Carl has lectured on international platforms in San Francisco, Gothenburg and Athens, also assists in the training of foundation stage dentists at Birmingham University, in both clinical practice and restorative procedures, as well as delivering postgraduate lectures.

He lectures for the ITI, and is a mentor for Straumann and Visiting Specialist Services.

With a special interest in periodontology and treating patients with aesthetic concerns, his vast experience covers non-surgical and surgical aspects of periodontal care, implants, guided tissue regeneration and gingival grafting techniques to replace lost gum and bone.
